Feminist Theory and Music 14 Conference

Feminist Theory and Music 14 Conference at San Francisco State University, CA with the theme of “Still We Rise”: Feminist Musicology in a Time of “Bitter, Twisted Lies” included the panel “Sexualities and Genders in the Classrooms” where Beth presented her paper “Teaching Music, Gender, and Society to the Popular Music Student.” She authored and teaches this course at Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA. The paper regarded both the pedagogical efficacy and the optimization of student empowerment. The conference was exciting and the paper was well received.
